Acheron

The Acheron River crosses the valley between the mountains of western Epirus and passes through a narrow gorge formed by the majestic mountains of Paramythia and Souli. This area is called the "Straits of Acheron", a landscape of exquisite beauty. The Acheron River is considered an important part of the European ecosystem. The most widespread and organized tourist part of Acheron is the village Glyki in Paramythia, with organized businesses for alternative tourism.
