
The place for vacation and rest
Thesprotia, has long beaches of fine sand, picturesque villages, ancient ruins and historical monuments that reveal the heroic image the county had in ancient times. The city of Igoumenitsa is a large natural harbor with notable touristic and commercial traffic and also a key gateway to Greece from Western Europe.
Sivota or Mourtos, a seaside touristic center in an area full of olive trees and wonderful beaches. During the Ottoman occupation the village was called Mourto, but in 1959 it was renamed Sivota, after the Battle of Sivota, which was held in 433 BC. It is located only 24km south of Igoumenitsa, opposite Corfu.
